Senior Heavy Duty – New Units Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary customer liaison for designated projects.

• Facilitate customer interactions, negotiations, and resolution of issues.

• Oversee relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, contractors, and vendors.

• Manage the comprehensive execution of large, intricate, non-turnkey, and product/equipment-only projects.

• Collaborate with the ITO Commercial Manager to formulate initial execution strategies.

• Ensure a seamless transition into the project execution phase.

• Coordinate contract evaluations to ensure alignment on requirements, scope, and obligations.

• Implement execution strategies based on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost principles.

• Take ownership of project revenue, contribution margins, cash flow, profit and loss, budgets, and operational plans.

• Guide teams on project performance metrics and balance trade-offs among cost, schedule, performance, and risk.

• Create and manage risk and opportunity registers, including mitigation strategies.

• Advocate for GE Vernova’s Safety Toolkit among project teams, partners, and subcontractors.

• Utilize both internal and external data for risk-informed decision-making.

• Cultivate project execution and/or technical expertise and act as a subject matter expert.

• Promote best practices aimed at enhancing products, processes, or services.

• Generate innovative solutions in complex manufacturing, engineering, or production settings.

• Employ operational, engineering, and product management methodologies across interconnected workstreams.

• Address cross-functional challenges and execution limitations by collaborating with partnering functions.

• Lead project teams and resources within a matrix organization.

• Assist Functional Project Managers with escalations.

• Deliver project, business, or technical presentations to senior leadership.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

• At least 4 years of Project Management experience in Energy, Construction, or large capital project settings.

• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites and other locations, up to 25–30% of the time.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.

• Proven experience and understanding of execution costs and estimates for large capital projects.

• Certified Project Management Professional.

• Field experience or equivalent Project Management experience.

• Capacity to manage multiple phased projects independently and simultaneously.

• Strong customer-oriented mindset with the ability to build solid relationships.

• Experience influencing and collaborating with senior-level leaders.

• Strategic thinking skills coupled with problem-solving and business/financial acumen.

• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

• Presentation skills with the capability to clearly convey complex information.

• Inclusive leadership style with strong interpersonal skills.

• Ability to gain support and consensus from various functions within a matrix organization.

• Proficient in making independent decisions and managing conflicting priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Effective interaction across all organizational levels.

• Experience utilizing data and lean tools and technologies for enhanced strategic, operational, and project efficiencies.
