This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Deliver comprehensive environmental support, encompassing due diligence, permitting, regulatory interpretation and compliance, and interaction with agencies.
• Assist in corporate development initiatives within the Central Region.
• Oversee environmental concerns, licensing and permitting procedures, legislative development, and related activities.
• Facilitate environmental due diligence, site selection, and the acquisition of environmental permits and approvals for energy development, mergers and acquisitions, financing, and asset divestitures.
• Act as a subject matter expert on intricate environmental issues and provide technical assistance for compliance.
• Keep abreast of current environmental policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with internal and external clients, subject matter experts, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
• Evaluate and convey environmental risks.
• Supervise aquatic, biological, and cultural resource consultants, studies, and technical documentation.
• Offer guidance on alternatives to reduce environmental impacts.
• Plan and oversee project budgets and timelines.
• Convert regulatory requirements into actionable tasks.
• Negotiate with federal, state, and local regulatory authorities.
• Create and manage vendor contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.
• Assist in strategy formulation and communicate environmental obligations to management.
• Review, monitor, and provide feedback on emerging environmental legislation and regulations.
• Travel and work extended hours as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Science.
• A Bachelor's Degree.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience, including at least 7 years focused on permitting renewable projects.
• Over 6 years of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with applicable environmental regulations.
• Experience in permitting, including NEPA, utility siting, endangered species, and Waters of the U.S.
• Background in environmental due diligence, risk mitigation, and project management.
• Capability to lead projects and consultants with minimal guidance.
• Understanding of environmental laws, regulations, and permit stipulations.
• Ability to engage with regulatory agencies and stakeholders effectively.
• Willingness to travel and work extended hours when necessary.
• Preferred: Master’s degree.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in environmental negotiations.
• Knowledge in environmental science and engineering.
• Familiarity with environmental issues and compliance.
• Expertise in performance consulting.
