Senior Grant Specialist – Genetics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide support to faculty, center directors, and staff during the pre-award phase of sponsored projects.

• Prepare and submit intricate grant proposals, which include budgets, justifications, agency forms, and regulatory documentation.

• Serve as a liaison among the Chair, faculty, and department administrators.

• Initiate the setup of subawards and coordinate with post-award units and the Office of Sponsored Research Services (OSRS).

• Assist selected Principal Investigators (PIs) with calendar management, meeting arrangements, and travel planning.

• Manage complex notices of award along with annual reports required by agencies.

• Oversee the transfer of PI grants and contracts to Washington University (WashU).

• Provide support for complex grant compliance requests and research reporting.

• Monitor grant deadlines, renewals, progress reports, and funding trends.

• Close accounts for sponsored projects and submit final reports.

• Approve purchasing documents and manage correspondence with grant agencies.

• Maintain grant records and perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted in place of the minimum educational requirement.

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.

• Familiarity with S2S, Research Management System (RMS), and SUBS system is preferred.

• Knowledge of agency guidelines is also preferred.

• Capability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily.

• No specific certification or professional license is necessary.

• A driver's license is not a requirement.
