Senior Global Category Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of category-specific targets, strategy, and program development for the global spend and supply base.

• Utilize pooling opportunities and synergies across Hillenbrand's operating companies and locations.

• Model the ideal supply base in accordance with market trends, demand needs, and business goals.

• Establish supply base preferences, sourcing governance, supplier objectives, and sourcing footprint design.

• Generate category intelligence that encompasses market trends, technologies, benchmarks, cost drivers, and value drivers.

• Evaluate supply base capabilities and performance against benchmarks and requirements.

• Classify suppliers and set development targets for them.

• Develop the category playbook for Project GSM and Supplier Account Managers.

• Strategize and align financial, operational, and business goals; outline funnel measures and execution plans.

• Create alternative sourcing projects and business cases to enhance the supply base and improve shiftability.

• Lead the execution of sourcing projects utilizing Advanced Negotiation Concepts.

• Review and approve supplier-related objectives and funnel measures.

• Establish and advocate for elevated Key Supplier objectives and facilitate crucial supplier meetings.

• Initiate and plan cost mastering and supplier development project funnels.

• Oversee master purchase agreements and amendments related to logistics, quality, and sustainability.

• Monitor and propel the execution of category-specific funnel measures to meet established targets.

• Employ financially and ethically sound methods that align with the Hillenbrand Operating Model.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in Strategic Procurement.

• Several years of experience in global sourcing across European, Asian, and North American markets.

• Multiple years of successful experience in global Project and Program Management.

• Experience in leading interdisciplinary cross-functional teams.

• Global sourcing experience with advanced intercultural sensitivity and teamwork skills.

• Proficient negotiation skills.

• Strong understanding of game-theoretical awarding events and e-auctions.

• Advanced analytical and conceptual abilities.

• Capability to drive results using relevant IT tools, such as PowerBI.

• In-depth knowledge of Source-2-Contract processes and Supplier Contract Management.

• Expertise in commodity markets.

• Total Cost of Ownership business case calculation, including make-versus-buy analysis.

• Familiarity with clean-sheet/should-costing methodologies.

• Understanding of GSM processes and governance.

• Competence in supply base risk management.

• Project management expertise.

• Proficient in Business English.

• Comprehension and application of Hillenbrand Core Values and Operating Model (HOM).

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent.

• Desired: separate expert-level certifications in Lean/Six Sigma, Design to Cost, and Project Management methodologies.
