This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Oversee the complete sourcing process for both specialty and traditional medications.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply commitments with manufacturers, wholesalers, and group purchasing organizations.
• Develop and manage partnerships with manufacturers and distributors to ensure priority allocation and reliable supply.
• Take ownership of RFPs, negotiations, renewals, and vendor performance management.
• Collaborate with clinical, pharmacy operations, and finance teams on demand forecasting and inventory management.
• Ensure that procurement practices comply with DSCSA, state pharmacy board regulations, payer requirements, data privacy, security, insurance, and indemnification standards.
• Monitor drug pricing trends, rebate opportunities, and supply constraints to adapt sourcing strategies accordingly.
• Build, mentor, and expand the procurement team.
• Create forecasting models and dashboards for supplier spending, inventory, and budgeting.
• Develop predictive analytics to enhance operational efficiency and optimize the supply chain.
• Manage corporate procurement, technology procurement, facilities and capital equipment, professional services, non-pharmaceutical operational supplies, and marketing/vendor expenditures.
• Own the enterprise-wide procurement policy, including approval thresholds and PO/contract workflows.
• Maintain a centralized vendor master and contract repositories.
• Collaborate with Finance on budgeting across all cost centers.
• Report to the Senior Director of Pharmacy Supply Chain and engage in regular alignment meetings.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare procurement and supply chain management.
• Direct negotiation experience with drug manufacturers and wholesalers.
• Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution channels, drug pricing structures, DSCSA, and state pharmacy regulations.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex vendor contracts and achieving measurable cost savings.
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, pharmacy, or a related field.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and cross-functional leadership abilities.
• Interest in corporate procurement or strategic sourcing, including SaaS/technology contracts, facilities, and capital projects.
• Experience in contract and legal negotiations beyond manufacturer agreements, such as MSAs, SOWs, and licensing terms.
• Preferred experience with specialty pharmacy or direct-to-patient (DTP) delivery models.
• Familiarity with GLP-1 and other high-demand specialty medication supply chains is a plus.
• PharmD or MBA preferred.
• Experience in establishing or scaling a procurement function at a high-growth health tech company is preferred.
• Fully remote work arrangement.
• Business travel may be required.
