Senior Functional QA Engineer – SaaS Billing Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Qatar, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain a detailed functional testing strategy for SaaS billing and cloud data integrations.

• Create test scenarios that encompass billing configurations, subscription lifecycle processes, invoice creation, payment handling, and revenue-related data pathways.

• Conduct functional tests primarily via the platform’s graphical user interfaces.

• Verify configurations, business processes, and integration points across standard, negative, boundary, and edge-case situations.

• Organize testing activities in collaboration with platform administrators and technical stakeholders.

• Confirm REST API integration points using Postman, Newman, or similar tools.

• Assess existing data-parity reports and query outcomes to spot anomalies and highlight discrepancies.

• Record test cases, execution evidence, outcomes, defects, and results of retesting.

• Work alongside business and engineering stakeholders to ensure functional test coverage aligns with business rules and integration behavior.

• Report on testing progress, risks, blockers, defects, and quality issues.

• Conduct regression testing to ensure that resolved defects do not adversely impact related billing or subscription processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of professional experience in Functional Quality Assurance, involving hands-on testing of complex SaaS or enterprise applications.

• Extensive experience in performing functional testing directly through web-based graphical interfaces.

• Capability to independently devise structured and thorough test plans that cover business workflows, integrations, negative scenarios, boundary conditions, and edge cases.

• Practical experience in testing billing or subscription processes, including subscription modifications, mid-cycle changes, invoice creation, and payment transactions.

• Strong background in functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.

• Direct experience with REST API testing using Postman, Newman, or similar tools.

• Basic SQL knowledge, with the ability to interpret query results and data-parity reports.

• Proficient in facilitating collaborative testing activities with platform administrators and technical stakeholders.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to recognize non-obvious failure scenarios.

• Detail-oriented documentation skills, including the maintenance of test cases, execution evidence, outcomes, and defect logs.

• Professional working proficiency in English.

• Availability to collaborate during Pacific Time business hours.

• Nice to Have: Practical experience with Zuora Billing, Revenue, or Subscription Management interfaces.

• Nice to Have: Experience in billing-platform migrations, ERP transitions, or similar system integration projects.

• Nice to Have: Familiarity with cloud data platforms or data warehouses, especially GCP or BigQuery.

• Nice to Have: Experience utilizing automated regression-testing frameworks such as Cypress or pytest.

• Nice to Have: ISTQB Foundation certification or an equivalent testing qualification.
