Senior Fullstack Engineer, RoR

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack product features utilizing Ruby on Rails and React.

• Enhance and optimize a large, established Rails monolith.

• Create and improve React components and user-facing experiences, focusing on performance, usability, latency, and conversion.

• Take ownership of features across backend, frontend, and data layers.

• Develop product functionalities leveraging LLMs and online AI inference.

• Create AI-driven text generation experiences.

• Establish measurable product, funnel, and conversion metrics.

• Implement and support experiments to assess product modifications.

• Validate solutions through automated testing, traditional testing, AI evaluations, and tracing.

• Apply engineering and system design principles to develop observable, scalable, maintainable, production-ready solutions.

• Employ agentic and AI-assisted software engineering throughout the development lifecycle.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, designers, and engineers.

• Prototype and launch MVPs to collect feedback and facilitate iterative development.

• Balance user experience, technical investment, and business goals.

• Engage in technical scoping and prioritization, clearly communicating technical complexities to stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-level professional software engineering experience with robust full-stack development skills.

• Significant production experience with Ruby on Rails in large, established monolithic applications.

• Proficient in navigating mature Rails codebases, including legacy patterns, comprehensive test suites, and careful database migrations.

• Strong, up-to-date experience in building production applications with React.

• Familiarity with React component composition, state management, and frontend architecture.

• Capability to own features end-to-end across backend, frontend, and data layers.

• Strong product mindset focused on user experience and business outcomes.

• Experience with measurable funnel, conversion, engagement, or similar product metrics.

• Background in experimentation and objective assessment of outcomes.

• Strong software quality practices, including automated testing, observability, monitoring, and tracing.

• Experience with modern CI/CD and container-based deployment environments.

• Effective use of AI coding agents and AI-assisted development tools.

• Solid understanding of software architecture and system design principles for scalable production applications.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to collaborate directly with US-based clients and distributed teams working in US Central Time.

• Nice to have: experience integrating Anthropic Claude, OpenAI models, or open-weight models.

• Nice to have: experience with online AI inference or text generation.

• Nice to have: expertise in prompt design, streaming responses, latency management, fallback strategies, and AI output guardrails.

• Nice to have: experience with AI evaluations and tracing.

• Nice to have: familiarity with A/B testing, experimentation platforms, or feature-flag frameworks.

• Nice to have: knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Argo CD.
