Senior FullStack Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Design, create, test, deploy, and sustain cloud-based enterprise applications and shared platform functionalities.

• Engage throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirement analysis to production support.

• Convert business requirements and data models into scalable, secure, resilient, and high-performance solutions.

• Produce maintainable, well-documented, and rigorously tested code.

• Create and develop shared services, frameworks, APIs, and infrastructure components.

• Offer technical leadership through code reviews, design evaluations, mentoring, pair programming, and best practices in software engineering.

• Diagnose complex issues and assist with incident response, root cause analysis, and enhancements in reliability.

• Collaborate with architects, product teams, platform engineers, operations teams, and other key stakeholders.

• Enhance scalability, performance, reliability, observability, availability, disaster recovery, and operational excellence.

• Take part in roadmap discussions, deployment and release activities, and participate in an on-call rotation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five years of professional software development experience in enterprise settings.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related STEM field is preferred; equivalent professional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

• Experience across the software development lifecycle is essential.

• Capability to independently analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical challenges.

• Ability to mentor engineers and conduct productive code and design reviews.

• Advanced proficiency in English, encompassing speaking, reading, and writing skills.

• Proficient in Java with experience in developing enterprise applications.

• Strong understanding of Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.

• Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), cloud-native services, and cloud-native architectures.

• Familiarity with Git and contemporary version-control practices.

• Experience with relational databases and SQL.

• Preferred: experience with Scala, JavaScript, Python, Bash, NoSQL databases, or contemporary web application and user-interface development.

• Preferred: experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing, and configuration management.

• Preferred: experience with distributed systems, cloud-native microservices, or technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or MapReduce.

• Preferred: knowledge of SRE, observability, monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, high availability, and disaster recovery.

• Preferred: experience with Kubernetes, containerization, cloud infrastructure automation, or relevant professional certifications from Google Cloud.
