Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Architect, develop, and sustain scalable backend services that facilitate planning and curriculum workflows.

• Create and enhance APIs, integration contracts, data models, and execute database migrations.

• Design and optimize backend services utilizing Go and PostgreSQL.

• Spearhead technical projects from initial discovery to final delivery, encompassing solution design, implementation, validation, and rollout.

• Diagnose production issues, performance limitations, and intricate cross-system behaviors; implement robust solutions.

• Ensure release quality, which includes testing, validation, deployment readiness, and follow-up after release.

• Work collaboratively with product, design, QA, and engineering teams to provide seamless end-to-end experiences.

• Assess current methodologies and propose practical technical solutions or directions.

• Contribute to architecture, documentation, engineering standards, and practices that enhance maintainability.

• Engage in code reviews, planning, and architectural conversations.

• Guide engineers and advocate for standards related to code quality, testing, reliability, accessibility, and maintainability.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows to enhance debugging, validation, automation, and delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in building and maintaining production software systems.

• Extensive experience in developing backend services using Go.

• Profound knowledge of PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, query optimization, and considerations for production data.

• Experience in designing and maintaining APIs, service boundaries, and integration contracts.

• Familiarity with distributed systems, caching, event-driven integrations, or asynchronous processing.

• Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving production issues in complex systems.

• Proficient in CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.

• Demonstrated capability to lead technical initiatives and make informed architectural choices.

• Excellent debugging, testing, and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, design, and quality teams.

• Ability to identify potential risks, communicate trade-offs, and keep stakeholders informed without causing unnecessary overhead.

• Capacity to balance technical excellence with practical product delivery.

• Experience in mentoring engineers and contributing to engineering best practices.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and contemporary developer productivity tools.

• Preferred but not required: experience with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript development.

• Preferred but not required: experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure.

• Preferred but not required: knowledge of GraphQL APIs.

• Preferred but not required: experience with curriculum, planning, content, or similarly intricate workflow-driven SaaS products.
