Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, testing, and maintenance of real-time, mission-critical applications.

• Create clean, secure, scalable, and maintainable full-stack solutions.

• Work in collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality features.

• Conduct code reviews, offer constructive feedback, and promote engineering best practices.

• Identify and resolve production issues using effective debugging techniques.

• Design and maintain automated tests to enhance code quality and coverage.

• Utilize AWS services like S3, SQS, and RDS to develop scalable cloud solutions.

• Enhance system reliability and performance through monitoring and continuous improvements.

• Mentor junior engineers and assist in their technical development.

• Take part in an on-call rotation to support production systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• At least 5 years of experience in building and delivering scalable web applications.

• Strong expertise in Java and a solid grasp of its ecosystem.

• Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

• Understanding of RESTful APIs and MVC architecture.

• Experience with MySQL or other relational databases.

• Practical experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms.

• Familiarity with Docker and containerized environments.

• Knowledge of Agile methodologies like Scrum/Kanban.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability in fast-paced environments.

• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

• Preferred: A Master’s degree in a relevant field.

• Preferred: Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring or Play.

• Preferred: Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Vue.js.

• Preferred: Experience with Elasticsearch or similar search technologies.

• Preferred: Knowledge of test automation tools like JUnit and Selenium.

• Preferred: Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins.

• Preferred: Familiarity with build tools like Maven, Gradle, or Ant.
