Senior Full Stack Java Engineer – Workforce Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute strategies for workforce planning, forecasting, scheduling, and optimization capabilities.

• Create microservices focused on forecasting, staffing calculations, schedule generation, shift management, adherence, exceptions, and operational reporting.

• Design user-friendly workforce applications utilizing TypeScript and React.

• Design and utilize REST APIs with an API-first methodology.

• Establish and uphold OpenAPI/Swagger contracts and versioning standards.

• Implement event-driven workflows for modifications in schedules, agent states, queue metrics, forecasts, and adherence events.

• Integrate workforce management features with customer experience platforms, ACD systems, routing frameworks, HR systems, payroll, identity services, and enterprise data platforms.

• Model workforce and operational data utilizing PostgreSQL and other relational database systems.

• Containerize services and contribute to cloud-native deployment patterns and configuration management practices.

• Develop and sustain CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins, automated testing, quality gates, and repeatable deployment methodologies.

• Diagnose production issues and enhance performance, batch processing, concurrency, scalability, and reliability.

• Engage in code reviews, technical design meetings, architecture discussions, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Collaborate effectively with Product, Operations Research, QA, DevOps, UX, and various other stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in full-stack software development, including responsibility for production applications.

• Strong grasp of workforce management principles, such as forecasting, staffing, scheduling, adherence, intraday management, shrinkage, occupancy, and service level management.

• Experience with complex business rules engines, optimization logic, scheduling algorithms, or workforce planning processes.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Java and Spring technologies, particularly Spring Boot, REST services, security, and data persistence.

• Solid frontend development expertise with Angular or React, TypeScript, component-based designs, state management, and modern testing methods.

• Familiarity with Node.js.

• Experience integrating workforce management systems with ACD, routing, HR, payroll, CRM, or data warehousing solutions.

• Demonstrated experience in designing REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven services within distributed environments.

• Strong SQL proficiency and experience in crafting efficient data models in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.

• Background in developing, deploying, or supporting cloud-based and containerized applications.

• Excellent communication abilities, including technical documentation and client-facing workshops.

• Familiarity with AWS services and Amazon Connect is a plus.

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or comparable messaging and event-streaming technologies.

• Knowledge of Jenkins, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, observability tools, and secure software delivery practices.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted software development or AI-enabled solutions is advantageous.
