Senior Full Stack Java Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, test, and sustain scalable backend services utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and best software engineering practices.

• Construct modern web applications leveraging React, TypeScript, reusable components, responsive designs, and accessible interaction methodologies.

• Design and utilize REST APIs through an API-first methodology, ensuring adherence to OpenAPI/Swagger agreements and effective error management.

• Develop modular solutions using microservices alongside object-oriented and event-driven design paradigms.

• Employ Node.js for lightweight services, backend-for-frontend elements, integrations, or development tools.

• Architect and enhance PostgreSQL data models and queries.

• Implement integrations with both internal and external systems through REST APIs, webhooks, messaging, and other integration techniques.

• Containerize applications and engage in cloud-based deployment strategies, configuration management, and environmental consistency.

• Create and manage Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines featuring automated testing, quality gates, and repeatable deployment processes.

• Integrate applications with structured logging, metrics, tracing, and actionable error reporting.

• Diagnose functional and production challenges while enhancing performance, resilience, scalability, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and engineering teams during design meetings, code evaluations, planning, and continuous enhancement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of full-stack software development experience, including taking ownership of production applications.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Java and Spring technologies, especially Spring Boot, REST services, persistence, security, and automated testing.

• Strong frontend development background with Angular or React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, component-based design, state management, and contemporary testing methodologies.

• Familiarity with Node.js for lightweight services, integrations, build tools, or supporting components.

• Demonstrated experience in designing REST APIs, microservices, and maintainable applications in distributed settings.

• Robust SQL capabilities and experience in crafting efficient data models in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.

• Background in developing, deploying, or supporting cloud-based and containerized applications.

• Excellent communication abilities, including the capacity to produce clear technical documentation and facilitate client-facing workshops.

• Knowledge of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, and secure API design principles.

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging and event-streaming technologies.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, observability tools, and secure software delivery methodologies.
