Senior Full-stack Engineer – React/Node, Backend-Focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the entire lifecycle of product features, from designing database schemas and implementing backend solutions to delivering frontend applications and monitoring production environments.

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable, event-driven, distributed systems that ensure high reliability and data consistency.

• Create and refine complex PostgreSQL queries, migrations, and transactional workflows optimized for high-performance financial operations.

• Develop robust third-party integrations utilizing webhooks, queues, retry mechanisms, and reconciliation strategies.

• Implement practices such as idempotency, dead-letter queues, outbox patterns, and fault-tolerant processing.

• Build responsive, high-quality user interfaces with React and Next.js.

• Contribute to architectural decisions that enhance scalability, observability, and operational excellence.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code or equivalent platforms.

• Engage in code reviews, mentor fellow engineers, and advocate for best practices concerning sensitive financial and transactional data.

• Collaborate effectively with product, design, and engineering teams.

• Implement and maintain observability and monitoring frameworks using Datadog or OpenTelemetry.

• Contribute to infrastructure automation and manage cloud resources with Terraform or Pulumi.

• Ensure engineering practices align with security, compliance, SOC2, and PCI-DSS standards where necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a Full-Stack Engineer delivering end-to-end, production-ready applications.

• Strong expertise in TypeScript and Node.js.

• Advanced proficiency with React and Next.js.

• In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL and database engineering, including raw SQL, query optimization, migrations, and performance assessment.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining event-driven and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with idempotency keys, retry strategies, dead-letter queues, outbox patterns, and reconciliation methods.

• Experience in constructing webhook-driven architectures and integrating with third-party systems.

• Understanding of scalable system architecture, asynchronous processing, and fault-tolerant application design.

• Background in financial systems, payments, billing, payroll, or ledgering systems.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code or similar agentic coding platforms.

• Systems-thinking mindset, strong problem-solving abilities, and keen attention to edge cases and data integrity.

• Capacity to work independently within high-impact engineering teams.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.

• Experience with observability and monitoring tools like Datadog or OpenTelemetry.

• Background working in regulated or compliance-focused environments such as SOC2 or PCI-DSS.

• Knowledge of property-based testing frameworks like fast-check.

• Experience optimizing applications for scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.

• Previous mentoring experience and participation in technical leadership initiatives.

• Experience in fintech or platforms with high transaction volumes.

• Exposure to modern AI-enhanced engineering workflows and automation techniques.

• Experience collaborating within autonomous, product-focused engineering teams.

• A passion for clean architecture, exceptional user experiences, and high-quality software craftsmanship.
