Senior Full-stack Engineer, React/Node – Backend-Focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the complete lifecycle of product features, encompassing database schema design, backend implementation, frontend delivery, and production monitoring.

• Design, develop, and uphold scalable event-driven and distributed systems that offer strong reliability and ensure data consistency.

• Craft and enhance intricate PostgreSQL queries, migrations, and transactional workflows tailored for high-performance financial operations.

• Construct robust third-party integrations utilizing webhooks, queues, retry mechanisms, and reconciliation processes.

• Apply reliability engineering patterns such as idempotency, dead-letter queues, outbox patterns, and fault-tolerant processing.

• Develop responsive, high-quality user interfaces using React and Next.js.

• Contribute to architectural decisions to enhance scalability, observability, and operational excellence.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code or similar platforms.

• Engage in code reviews, mentor engineers, and advocate for best practices regarding sensitive financial and transactional data.

• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering stakeholders.

• Implement and sustain observability and monitoring through Datadog or OpenTelemetry.

• Contribute to infrastructure automation and cloud resource management utilizing Terraform or Pulumi.

• Align engineering practices with security, compliance, SOC2, and PCI-DSS requirements as applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a Full-Stack Engineer delivering end-to-end production-ready applications.

• Strong expertise in TypeScript and Node.js.

• Advanced proficiency with React and Next.js.

• In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL and database engineering, including raw SQL, query optimization, migrations, and performance analysis.

• Proven experience in designing and maintaining event-driven and distributed systems.

• Solid understanding of idempotency keys, retry strategies, dead-letter queues (DLQs), outbox patterns, and reconciliation processes.

• Experience in building webhook-driven architectures and integrating third-party systems.

• Strong foundation in scalable system architecture, asynchronous processing, and fault-tolerant applications.

• Experience in financial, payments, billing, payroll, or ledgering systems.

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or similar agentic coding platforms.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities with a systems-thinking approach and attention to edge cases and data integrity.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently within high-impact engineering teams.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Pulumi.

• Knowledge of observability and monitoring platforms such as Datadog or OpenTelemetry.

• Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy environments, including SOC2 or PCI-DSS.

• Understanding of property-based testing frameworks such as fast-check.

• Experience in optimizing applications for scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.

• Previous experience mentoring engineers and engaging in technical leadership roles.

• Experience in fintech or high-transaction-volume platforms.

• Exposure to modern AI-enhanced engineering workflows and automation practices.

• Experience collaborating within autonomous, product-focused engineering teams.
