Senior Full-stack Engineer – React, Node, Backend-Focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Dominican Republic.

📋 Description

• Manage the entire lifecycle of product features, from designing database schemas and implementing backend solutions to delivering frontend applications and monitoring production.

• Design, construct, and sustain scalable event-driven and distributed systems with a strong focus on reliability and data consistency.

• Develop and enhance complex PostgreSQL queries, migrations, and transactional workflows to support high-performance financial operations.

• Create robust integrations with third-party systems utilizing webhooks, queues, retry mechanisms, and reconciliation processes.

• Apply reliability engineering principles, including idempotency, dead-letter queues (DLQs), outbox patterns, and fault-tolerant processing.

• Develop responsive and high-quality user interfaces using React and Next.js.

• Participate in architectural discussions to enhance system scalability, observability, and operational excellence.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or similar platforms.

• Engage in code reviews, mentor other engineers, and advocate for best practices concerning sensitive financial and transactional data.

• Collaborate effectively with product, design, and engineering teams.

• Establish and maintain observability and monitoring solutions using Datadog or OpenTelemetry.

• Assist in infrastructure automation and cloud resource management through Terraform or Pulumi.

• Ensure engineering practices align with security, compliance, SOC2, and PCI-DSS requirements when applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a Full-Stack Engineer delivering end-to-end production-ready applications.

• Strong knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js.

• Advanced proficiency with React and Next.js.

• Extensive expertise in PostgreSQL and database engineering, including raw SQL, query optimization, migrations, and performance assessment.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining event-driven and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with idempotency keys and retry strategies.

• Knowledge of dead-letter queues (DLQs).

• Understanding of outbox patterns.

• Awareness of reconciliation processes for ensuring data consistency.

• Experience in building webhook-driven architectures and integrating third-party systems.

• Understanding of scalable system architecture, asynchronous processing, and fault-tolerant applications.

• Experience in financial, payment, billing, payroll, or ledgering systems.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or similar coding platforms.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Pulumi.

• Familiarity with observability and monitoring platforms such as Datadog or OpenTelemetry.

• Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy sectors, including SOC2 or PCI-DSS.

• Knowledge of property-based testing frameworks such as fast-check.

• Experience in optimizing applications for scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.

• Previous experience mentoring engineers and engaging in technical leadership roles.

• Experience in fintech or high-transaction-volume platforms.

• Exposure to modern AI-enhanced engineering workflows and automation practices.

• Experience collaborating within autonomous, product-oriented engineering teams.
