Senior Full Stack Engineer, Python, React

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design and develop backend services utilizing Python and a contemporary web framework like FastAPI, providing REST APIs for frontend and other client applications.

• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms, which include SSO integration, session/token management, and role/permission-based access control.

• Establish audit logging for critical user actions and monitor changes across core data.

• Create and maintain scheduling and background job functionalities, including cron-based schedules, retries, and status tracking.

• Take ownership of database schema design and modifications using a migration tool.

• Develop automated backend tests while ensuring code quality and adhering to linting standards within a test-driven environment.

• Design and create UI features using React and TypeScript, encompassing configuration screens, data views, and dashboards.

• Develop interactive dashboards and data grids with customizable user layouts.

• Implement frontend session management and a permission-aware user interface.

• Oversee the complete request lifecycle for features from API contract design to backend implementation, frontend components, and state management.

• Write frontend component and integration tests while maintaining type safety.

• Build and sustain AI-powered functionalities on both API and UI layers.

• Integrate with governed LLM/AI services while adhering to data-handling policies and ensuring that AI outputs are reviewable and attributable to a human.

• Utilize AI coding assistants in daily development workflows while upholding code quality and test coverage.

• Containerize and deploy services using tools like Docker and Kubernetes/Helm across various environments.

• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure as code with Terraform.

• Construct and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, including automated testing, security scanning, image builds, and deployment automation.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and QA teams to deliver reusable, secure solutions, and to support code quality, observability, and API design best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or a related area.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in full-stack software engineering, demonstrating ownership of production systems across both backend and frontend.

• Strong expertise in Python, including experience in developing production REST APIs and utilizing an ORM.

• Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript, incorporating hooks-based components, client-side data fetching/caching, and routing.

• Solid SQL skills with experience in relational data modeling.

• Knowledge of authentication/authorization patterns (SSO, tokens/JWT) and role-based permission models, consistently applied across API and UI layers.

• Experience with containerization and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).

• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code practices (Terraform or similar).

• Comfortable using AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) in daily development and capable of critically evaluating AI-generated code rather than accepting it unconditionally.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, comfortable managing a feature end to end across both backend and frontend.
