Senior Full-Stack Engineer – Node.js, Svelte, React

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Dominican Republic.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, testing, and implementation of intricate frontend and backend functionalities.

• Create scalable and maintainable applications utilizing TypeScript for both client and server-side environments.

• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and server-side applications leveraging Node.js and contemporary TypeScript frameworks.

• Construct modern, responsive user interfaces with Svelte/SvelteKit or similar technologies.

• Design and manage relational database schemas, migrations, and performance-oriented queries.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and client stakeholders to convert business requirements into technical solutions.

• Engage in architectural discussions, technical design choices, and the establishment of engineering standards and best practices.

• Create automated tests and contribute to the quality and testing strategies of application code.

• Develop and sustain CI/CD workflows, utilizing Docker for consistent local and development environments.

• Utilize AWS cloud services and serverless architectures to deploy and maintain production applications.

• Investigate and assess technologies, tools, and methodologies aimed at enhancing engineering productivity and product quality.

• Employ AI-assisted development tools for planning, coding, testing, debugging, and various engineering workflows.

• Directly collaborate with clients through regular meetings, technical discussions, and product demonstrations.

• Participate in daily standups and bi-weekly sprint cycles within a small, independent engineering team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in full-stack software development.

• Advanced proficiency in TypeScript, including its complex language features and type definitions.

• Strong experience in server-side TypeScript and Node.js, particularly in developing and utilizing RESTful APIs.

• Extensive experience with Svelte, SvelteKit, React, Next.js, or another modern frontend framework.

• Proficient in relational databases and SQL, including schema design, migrations, and query optimization.

• Solid understanding of software testing, code quality, and sustainable development practices.

• Familiar with modern CI/CD pipelines and Docker-based development workflows.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms, especially AWS, along with experience in deploying or supporting cloud-based applications.

• Experience in contributing to architecture and technical design decisions for production applications.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills, capable of working directly with clients to translate business needs into technical solutions.

• Ability to work effectively and independently within a small, collaborative engineering team.

• Practical experience utilizing AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools.

• Ability to clearly express the current capabilities and limitations of AI tools in software engineering, including aspects of accuracy, security, reliability, and responsible use.
