Senior Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop backend services, APIs, and customer-oriented web applications that facilitate the Ion robotic fleet and its operational workflows.

• Create software that is scalable, testable, maintainable, and able to be integrated effectively.

• Execute unit, integration, and end-to-end testing within CI pipelines.

• Contribute to CI/CD processes, observability, and operational procedures that enable frequent and reliable releases.

• Produce service and API documentation, health endpoints, and monitor uptime.

• Collaborate with embedded, infrastructure, and data teams to provide valuable, data-driven solutions.

• Work alongside design and product teams to enhance, define, and implement user experiences.

• Partner with security and quality teams to ensure compliance and operational standards are met.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in developing backend services and APIs using TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, Python, Java, or similar languages.

• Significant front-end development experience with frameworks such as React.js, Vue.js, Svelte, or comparable technologies.

• Proficiency in designing GraphQL, REST, or gRPC APIs with well-defined contracts, documentation, versioning, and backward compatibility.

• Familiarity with relational databases like Postgres, alongside server-side data modeling and transactional system architecture.

• Experience with automated testing, GitLab CI/CD, and deploying backends on AWS.

• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, or Amazon EKS.

• Understanding of the reliability of distributed systems, failure management, observability, and operational support.

• Strong skills in troubleshooting and incident management.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a collaborative approach.

• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related discipline.

• At least 6 years of relevant experience in software engineering, particularly in backend services or API development.

• Candidates may need to comply with U.S. export-control regulations, which may entail obtaining an export license or Technology Control Plan.
