Senior Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain contemporary full-stack web applications that facilitate data flow and visibility across various platforms.

• Prototype and operationalize tools for extensive data movement and ETL automation.

• Create APIs and backend services to authenticate, authorize, and connect with data mesh nodes.

• Integrate enterprise and third-party data sources through secure and scalable interfaces.

• Collaborate with engineers, DevOps, product owners, and data architects in an Agile setting.

• Gather requirements and deliver incremental enhancements.

• Design and implement secure access patterns across distributed data systems.

• Author API specifications, deployment guides, and internal usage manuals.

• Optimize performance and monitor deployed services for observability and scalability.

• Define and support CI/CD practices for safe and reliable deployments.

• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives.

• Provide support to government agencies through secure digital services and data-aware applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must successfully pass public trust clearance through the U.S. Federal Government.

• Must be a U.S. citizen or obtain clearance through the Foreign National Government System.

• Foreign National candidates must have resided in the United States for at least 3 of the past 5 years.

• Valid and unexpired passport from the country of birth.

• Appropriate VISA/work permit documentation.

• At least 7 years of relevant experience in software engineering.

• Proficient in at least one of TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python.

• Strong experience with React.js, Next.js, Node.js, or Flask.

• Familiarity with large-scale system architectures and Petabyte-level data systems.

• Proficient in automated testing frameworks such as PyTest, Jest, Cypress, or Playwright.

• Experience in developing, testing, and securing RESTful and GraphQL APIs.

• Extensive knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.

• Proven experience with AWS cloud architecture, including networking, security, and service orchestration.

• Familiar with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

• Knowledge of Redis for caching or message queuing.

• Familiarity with Grafana, Prometheus, and Sentry.

• Experience with Git, Git-based workflows, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD platforms.

• Comfortable working in a tightly integrated Agile team of 15 or fewer members.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Availability during Eastern Time business hours, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET unless otherwise directed.

• Desired: experience with OAuth, SAML, Okta, Active Directory, AWS IAM (ABAC), data mesh principles, domain-oriented architectures, Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ, NATS, ETL pipelines, data ingestion workflows, access control, identity management, and federated data governance.
