Senior Full-Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage high-scale backend pipelines and data-intensive systems.

• Design and execute production-ready ingestion and processing systems.

• Make architectural choices informed by actual data volumes.

• Guarantee dependable operation within Kubernetes and AWS ecosystems.

• Occasionally engage in frontend tasks, including minor UI updates and new page creation.

• Focus primarily on backend system design and implementation (about 80–85% backend).

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in production environments with TypeScript and Node.js.

• Strong preference for candidates with NestJS experience, as it serves as the primary backend framework.

• Extensive experience in designing backend systems that operate at high scale, including autoscaling, high availability, performance, resilience, and managing failure modes.

• In-depth understanding of event-driven architectures, encompassing Kafka-based ingestion/streaming, producers/consumers, pipelines, and batching concepts.

• Advanced PostgreSQL/SQL expertise, including schema design and query optimization.

• Hands-on experience with Kafka is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with Redis is beneficial.

• Practical experience with AWS and Kubernetes environments is essential.

• Experience with logs, metrics, and tracing to monitor and troubleshoot production systems.
