Senior Full-Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage high-scale backend pipelines and data-centric systems.

• Create and deploy production-quality ingestion and processing systems.

• Make informed architectural decisions based on actual data volumes.

• Guarantee consistent operation within Kubernetes and AWS environments.

• Undertake occasional frontend tasks, such as minor UI adjustments and new page creation.

• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems using logs, metrics, and tracing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in TypeScript and Node.js (production-level experience).

• Strong preference for NestJS as the primary backend framework.

• Extensive experience in designing high-scale backend systems, covering aspects like autoscaling, high availability, performance, resilience, and failure modes.

• Solid understanding of event-driven architectures.

• Familiarity with Kafka for ingestion/streaming, including producers/consumers, pipelines, and batching techniques.

• Advanced PostgreSQL / SQL expertise, focusing on schema modeling and query optimization.

• Hands-on experience with Kafka is highly desirable.

• Basic knowledge of Redis.

• Experience working with AWS and Kubernetes in production settings.

• Practical knowledge of using logs, metrics, and tracing for monitoring and debugging production systems.

• Familiarity with security domains, such as application security, runtime protection, or vulnerability management (this is advantageous but not essential).

• Previous experience in data-intensive security platforms or similar high-scale systems.
