Senior Full-Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement large-scale backend pipelines and data-centric systems.

• Design and manage robust ingestion and processing systems for production use.

• Make architectural choices guided by actual data volumes.

• Ensure consistent operation within Kubernetes and AWS environments.

• Occasionally handle frontend tasks, including minor UI adjustments and new page creation.

• Primarily concentrate on the design and implementation of backend systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in production with TypeScript and Node.js.

• A strong preference for using NestJS as the primary backend framework.

• Extensive experience in designing backend systems for high scale, focusing on autoscaling, high availability, performance, resilience, and failure modes.

• In-depth knowledge of event-driven architectures.

• Familiarity with Kafka-based ingestion/streaming, including producers/consumers, pipelines, and batching techniques.

• Strong PostgreSQL/SQL expertise, covering schema modeling and query optimization.

• Hands-on experience with Kafka is highly desirable.

• Basic knowledge of Redis.

• Experience in AWS and Kubernetes production environments.

• Practical skills in utilizing logs, metrics, and tracing for monitoring and debugging production systems.

• Familiarity with security domains, including application security, runtime protection, and vulnerability management, is a plus but not required.

• Previous experience in data-intensive security platforms or similarly high-scale systems.
