This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist with repairs, enhancements, and ongoing support for a significant production web application that services the EPA IV MAINES Contract.
• Participate in several major scheduled releases in FY26.
• Deliver continuous Standard Web Maintenance across both UI and API tiers.
• Execute UI updates and enhancements according to specified requirements.
• Address bug fixes, improve accessibility, optimize front-end performance, carry out routine UI updates, and enhance code quality.
• Ensure compliance with design, usability, and security standards.
• Develop and assist with third-party migrations and integrations.
• Implement batch upload capabilities for external systems.
• Create additional backend features.
• Enhance search and filtering functionalities.
• Aid in the development and improvement of administrative modules.
• Set and adhere to standards for migrations and integrations.
• Improve integration-related features for enhanced reliability and performance.
• Support the transition of legacy data and processes to updated architectures.
• Ensure API components meet required performance, scalability, and security standards.
• Over 7 years of relevant experience.
• US citizenship is mandatory.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Python and modern frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Full-stack experience in JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.
• Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining REST APIs.
• Familiarity with batch processing workflows.
• Experience integrating external or third-party systems.
• Proficient in relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage tasks across multiple releases.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• NACI (T1) public trust requirement.
• Preferred: experience in supporting large-scale production applications.
• Preferred: understanding of secure coding practices and enterprise security standards.
• Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Preferred: experience with PHP.
