Senior Full Stack Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Set the technical direction for the Air Force Data Mesh Environment.

• Provide secure backend services and user-friendly interfaces for discovering and accessing distributed, governed data.

• Architect, prototype core functionalities, and maintain the platform to support the Cloud One mission.

• Define and uphold technical standards, architectural guidance, and deployment practices.

• Convert business requirements and Figma designs into technical specifications, architecture diagrams, data models, and API specifications.

• Assess technologies and engineering tools, including AI-assisted tools when appropriate, and suggest enhancements.

• Develop secure, high-performance backend services and create intuitive, responsive user interfaces.

• Implement solutions using React, Node.js, and Next.js.

• Design and integrate services and API gateways utilizing REST and appropriate monolithic or microservices patterns within a cloud computing environment.

• Support identity and access management, enterprise metadata, distributed data products, and streaming data pipelines.

• Review code, diagnose complex full-stack issues, and enhance quality, security, and engineering practices.

• Mentor junior engineers.

• Engage in design reviews, critiques, and planning discussions alongside UX, product, engineering, and mission stakeholders.

• Articulate architectural and technical decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.

• Capability to obtain a US DoW Secret clearance.

• A minimum of eight years of hands-on software development experience.

• Profound technical knowledge and a track record of delivering complex applications.

• Familiarity with API gateways and cloud-based transactional, interactive, or data-intensive systems.

• Strong grasp of REST, microservices, and monolithic service design patterns.

• Proven expertise in React, Node.js, and Next.js.

• Experience in translating Figma designs into precise user interfaces.

• Strong analytical skills and sound judgment regarding business requirements.

• Proficient presentation and interpersonal communication skills.

• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field is preferred; extensive professional experience may substitute.

• Preferred experience in integrating AI or ML models, including large language models, into web applications.

• Preferred experience in guiding teams on the appropriate use of AI-assisted software engineering tools.

• Current Secret security clearance is preferred.
