Senior Full Stack Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and improve frontend applications and backend services.

• Design and integrate REST APIs along with database-driven services.

• Construct and sustain cloud-native application components.

• Participate in event-driven services and manage scheduled/background processing tasks.

• Write automated unit and integration tests while upholding high software quality standards.

• Engage with CI/CD pipelines and manage containerized application deployments.

• Diagnose application issues and provide necessary deployment and production support.

• Collaborate with developers, product stakeholders, and other members of an Agile delivery team.

• Rapidly grasp and contribute to an established application architecture and codebase.

• Operate independently with minimal supervision on extensive digital initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant professional experience as a Full Stack Developer with practical frontend and backend development skills.

• Proficient experience with TypeScript and contemporary frontend development techniques.

• Familiarity with React or another modern frontend framework.

• Experience in backend development, ideally using Python or similar server-side technologies.

• Proven ability in designing, developing, and integrating REST APIs.

• Knowledge of relational databases and database integration.

• Experience in developing cloud-native applications.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms; GCP is preferred, but relevant experience with AWS or Azure is also acceptable.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery methodologies.

• Background in containerized applications and deployments, including Docker and/or Kubernetes.

• Experience with event-driven architectures/services.

• Knowledge of scheduled or background processing tasks.

• Strong grasp of automated testing, source control, code reviews, and maintainable application design principles.

• Capability to work independently, assume ownership of tasks, and quickly become effective within an existing product environment.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience in Agile delivery teams.

• Experience working directly with clients and stakeholders in a professional services or consulting context is advantageous.

• Prior experience in the Canadian public sector or government digital services is a plus.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Must reside in and be authorized to work in Canada.

• Availability to collaborate with teams operating on Pacific Time hours.

• May be required to undergo security screenings, including a criminal record check.
