Senior FPGA Hardware Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop FPGA solutions for new product initiatives.

• Create Verilog/SystemVerilog code for intricate digital logic, encompassing high-speed interfaces and control functionalities.

• Execute simulation, synthesis, and place & route processes for FPGAs.

• Construct and implement test benches along with verification strategies for FPGA designs.

• Collaborate with software, firmware, and systems engineers to integrate FPGA designs within broader system architectures.

• Carry out hardware debugging and validation tasks.

• Produce design documentation, which includes specifications, block diagrams, and testing plans.

• Engage in design reviews to ensure compliance with design standards.

• Keep updated on FPGA technologies, tools, and industry developments to suggest enhancements.

• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and aid in the technical advancement of the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in FPGA design and development for commercial applications.

• Proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog for advanced digital design.

• Strong expertise in FPGA development tools (e.g., AMD Vivado, Intel Quartus Prime).

• Significant experience with simulation and verification methodologies (e.g., UVM; familiarity with SystemVerilog is a plus).

• Solid grasp of high-speed digital design principles, signal integrity, and timing closure.

• Experience with communication protocols such as PCIe, Ethernet, DDR, SPI, and I2C.

• Skillful in utilizing laboratory equipment for hardware debugging and validation.

• Familiarity with embedded processors within FPGAs, such as ARM, MicroBlaze, and Nios II, is highly desirable.

• Experience with scripting languages like Python and Tcl for automation purposes.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
