Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Conduct customer discovery sessions, workflow shadowing, and take field notes with operators and decision-makers.

• Create maps detailing users, states, evidence sources, exceptions, and operational constraints.

• Develop minimal production product slices across frontend, backend, data, and integrations.

• Ensure that successful paths function correctly, while unsafe paths are designed to fail, and that the system performs well with realistic data.

• Write tests, execute realistic scenarios, examine logs, and document validated, missing, or uncertain behaviors.

• Articulate trade-offs, risks, and subsequent steps to non-technical customers without overstating claims.

• Recognize reusable patterns from fieldwork and integrate them into product and engineering processes.

• Manage ambiguous tasks from inception to completion, including discovery, building, demonstration, rollout, and follow-up.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in shipping production software, with the ability to explain what was modified, how it was validated, and the impact on users.

• Comfortable navigating complex customer environments where initial requests often do not address the underlying issues.

• Capable of communicating with operators in straightforward language and then translating that back into coding solutions.

• Proficient in TypeScript, React, Next.js, and shadcn/Tailwind.

• Experienced with Python (uv), Pydantic, Django/Django Ninja or FastAPI, background workers, and typed APIs.

• Knowledgeable in Postgres, migrations, service roles, tenant scoping, and ensuring auditability.

• Familiar with pydantic-ai agents, typed outputs, evaluations, and selecting providers across Gemini, OpenAI, and Bedrock.

• Proficient with Vercel, Cloudflare, AWS, or GCP; capable of debugging deployment issues, environment configurations, logs, and customer-facing behaviors.

• Evidence-oriented approach: differentiating between facts, inferences, assumptions, and risks.

• Good product judgment regarding one-off customizations versus core product features.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey what is safe, uncertain, and the next steps.

• Nice to have: Experience with AWS IAM, GitHub OIDC, Lambda, API Gateway, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, and least privilege principles.

• Nice to have: Experience in infrastructure as code.

• Nice to have: Background in regulated industries such as energy, compliance, government permitting, healthcare, or finance.

• Nice to have: Prior experience as a forward-deployed engineer, solutions engineer, or founding engineer.
