Senior Forensic Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Act as a senior-level contributor within the Forensic Architecture & Engineering practice.

• Lead intricate large-loss forensic investigations.

• Provide expert analysis and testimony to various stakeholders.

• Function as a trusted technical advisor to clients.

• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients while fostering long-term relationships.

• Identify and pursue new business prospects within the insurance, legal, and construction industries.

• Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.

• Work collaboratively with senior leadership to define and execute growth strategies.

• Mentor and develop a team of engineers.

• Offer strategic direction and oversight on client engagements.

• Facilitate professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.

• Oversee and conduct forensic investigations related to structural failures, construction defects, and material performance issues.

• Prepare and review expert reports, technical analyses, and litigation support documents.

• Provide expert witness testimony in legal proceedings when necessary.

• Ensure consistency in inspection methodology, client communications, and the quality of deliverables.

• Leverage existing client relationships to enhance revenue generation and contribute to practice growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, or a related Engineering field (ABET-accredited).

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license.

• Extensive engineering experience, particularly in forensic consulting.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including expert report writing and courtroom testimony.

• Experience collaborating with insurance carriers, law firms, or in construction litigation is preferred.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex assignments effectively.

• Willingness to travel to various project sites and conduct field investigations.

• Capacity to work in both hot and cold environments.

• Ability to carry and operate equipment pertinent to the role.

• Physically fit to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
