This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +8 more states.
• Document the costs associated with newly acquired fixed assets.
• Monitor current assets and compute as well as log asset depreciation.
• Manage the accounting for disposed fixed assets across various Health System locations.
• Prepare financial statements, analyze data, and ensure compliance with financial regulations relating to fixed assets.
• Evaluate the general ledger and verify that fixed asset project data is accurate and comprehensive in Strata.
• Ensure that fixed asset projects stay within the sanctioned budget.
• Liaise and follow up with project managers regarding the status of fixed asset projects.
• Confirm the accuracy of Construction in Progress and activate fixed assets based on their first usage date.
• Develop fixed asset audit schedules and assist auditors during annual and other audit processes.
• Examine transactions and determine the appropriate accounting treatment.
• Ensure that newly acquired fixed assets are properly tagged.
• Assist team members in entering fixed asset requests into Strata.
• Oversee processes and projects related to financial data reporting, including delegating and reviewing tasks.
• Provide onboarding, guidance, coaching, and training to fellow employees.
• Complete additional special projects as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least four (4) years of experience in the accounting sector.
• Proficient in automated accounting systems, general ledgers, spreadsheets, databases, and word processing applications.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with all organizational levels and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to offer guidance, coaching, and training to colleagues.
• May require flexibility in the work schedule to accommodate operational demands.
• Prior experience with Strata and Workday systems is preferred.
• MBA, CPA, CIA, or equivalent qualifications are preferred.
• Five (5) to eight (8) years of progressively responsible accounting experience in fixed assets accounting, general accounting, or finance is preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience in public accounting is preferred.
• Previous experience with fixed assets accounting, audits, and internal controls is preferred.
• Proven ability to lead projects to completion is preferred.
