This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +21 more states.
• Act as a subject matter expert on revenue recognition, providing guidance to stakeholders on ASC 606 regarding intricate customer arrangements, contract modifications, and unconventional deal structures.
• Examine and assess complex customer contracts to ascertain revenue recognition treatment and document technical accounting conclusions.
• Manage essential components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue closing process, which includes reconciliations, revenue analytics, forecasting support, reserve calculations, flux analysis, and management reporting.
• Collaborate with Sales, Deal Desk, Legal, FP&A, Customer Success, and Operations teams on contract establishment, revenue forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Identify risks associated with revenue recognition, operational inefficiencies, and control deficiencies, while driving improvements in processes.
• Prepare and review revenue-related schedules and disclosures for both internal and external financial reporting purposes.
• Lead initiatives in revenue accounting, which encompass system implementations, process automation, ERP enhancements, and integration projects.
• Define system requirements, assess the impact on accounting processes, and ensure compliance with company accounting policies.
• Execute and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), validation activities, and change management for system implementations and improvements.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing technical accounting support, SOX controls, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
• Mentor junior team members, offering guidance on revenue accounting processes, controls, and best practices.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2–4 years dedicated to revenue accounting in a SaaS, software, subscription-based, or technology setting.
• Strong comprehension and practical application of ASC 606 revenue recognition guidelines, including complex contractual arrangements and multi-element transactions.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
• Experience managing components of the monthly and quarterly closing process with minimal oversight.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, encompassing complex formulas, data analysis, and reconciliation techniques.
• Significant experience with NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment is essential.
• Background in supporting ERP, revenue system implementations, integrations, or process automation efforts.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and influence stakeholders on accounting and process-related decisions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication capabilities.
• Public accounting experience and/or experience at a publicly traded company is highly preferred.
• CPA certification or progress toward obtaining CPA is preferred.
• Familiarity with RevPro, Salesforce CRM, Power BI, or similar financial systems and reporting tools is preferred.
