Senior Financial Systems Engineer, Acumatica ERP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of second-line support for Acumatica users, troubleshoot and rectify functional, data, and technical issues, manage the Acumatica helpdesk queue, and drive root-cause resolutions.

• Design, create, test, and implement customizations for Acumatica, ranging from Generic Inquiries and reports to intricate C# customization projects.

• Develop and sustain integrations between Acumatica and internal systems utilizing the Acumatica REST API and Workato.

• Plan and carry out the annual version upgrade of the on-premises Acumatica instance, which includes customization refactoring, regression testing, UAT, go-live planning, and post-upgrade stabilization.

• Collaborate with Finance and business teams to clarify requirements, present options, and formulate technical designs and delivery plans.

• Manage project scope, estimates, and comprehensive delivery.

• Utilize AI coding assistants and agents for development, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.

• Assist in defining and evolving safe and effective practices for AI usage in an ERP context.

• Monitor application health, performance, and data integrity; implement monitoring and alert systems.

• Uphold release management discipline and coordinate efforts with IT and the dedicated SQL Server DBA.

• Contribute to and review code while maintaining technical documentation.

• Mentor team members, lead initiatives, and serve as the company's subject-matter expert for Acumatica.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience with Acumatica ERP.

• At least 3 years in a technical/development role, encompassing customization projects, integrations, and upgrades.

• Extensive working knowledge of the Acumatica Framework and platform, including DACs, graphs and extensions, BQL, event handlers, Generic Inquiries, Report Designer, Business Events, Automated Processing, Import/Export Scenarios, and the REST API.

• Strong expertise in C# and .NET, T-SQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.

• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting and finance processes: GL, AR, AP, sales orders, cash management, revenue recognition, multi-entity, and multi-currency.

• Practical daily use of AI coding assistants or agents in real delivery work, with the discernment to review their output before it impacts a finance system.

• Demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception to completion with minimal oversight: requirements gathering, design, build, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.

• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Capability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and produce clear documentation.

• Comfortable collaborating in a distributed multinational team, with flexibility to align several working hours a day with colleagues on the US East Coast.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting/Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Relevant Acumatica developer or consultant certifications.

• Experience with Acumatica version upgrades on a heavily customized on-premises instance.

• Familiarity with integrating Acumatica with Workato or similar integration platforms.

• Exposure to SOX/ITGC controls, audit support, and change-management processes in a finance systems environment.

• Understanding of Git-based workflows, CI/CD, and automated testing methodologies.

• Experience with modern AI integration, such as developing MCP servers or agent tooling around ERP APIs, or leveraging LLMs for support triage and data quality analysis.
