Senior Financial Systems Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the subject matter expert for financial processes within NetSuite, encompassing record-to-report, procure-to-pay, revenue recognition, as well as inventory and cost accounting.

• Collect and critically assess Finance and Accounting requirements, converting them into functional specifications with measurable acceptance criteria.

• Document current operational processes while identifying opportunities for automation.

• Lead user acceptance testing by developing test plans, coordinating business testing, and approving before production deployment.

• Identify and implement AI-enhanced improvements for document capture and coding, anomaly detection, reconciliation support, and acceleration of closing processes.

• Assess and integrate NetSuite's native AI functionalities.

• Utilize AI for data analysis, documentation, saved searches, specifications, test cases, and troubleshooting activities.

• Collaborate with technology leadership to establish AI guidelines for financial data management.

• Manage and prioritize tasks with the managed services partner, NetSuite ACS, and internal developers.

• Assist in interfacing between NetSuite and external platforms, as well as custom systems.

• Oversee the financial systems request queue, which includes intake, triage, prioritization, and status updates.

• Hold managed services partners accountable for project scope, quality, and timelines; review statements of work and confirm deliverables.

• Execute NetSuite configuration, create saved searches, generate reports and dashboards, and make minor adjustments to fields or forms.

• Evaluate semiannual NetSuite updates and manage regression testing.

• Serve as the primary contact for financial system users, resolving or escalating issues as necessary.

• Draft and maintain SOPs, process documentation, and training materials; facilitate onboarding and refresher training sessions.

• Monitor recurring issues and work towards implementing permanent solutions.

• Create and maintain saved searches, SuiteAnalytics workbooks, and financial reporting.

• Oversee integrations with e-commerce and subscription platforms, payment processors, 3PL and warehouse systems, banks, tax engines, and the data warehouse.

• Assist with bulk data operations and related reconciliation tasks.

• Support internal and external audit requests, ITGC and application control testing, and evidence collection.

• Represent the Technology team on financial systems initiatives, including module rollouts, brand and subsidiary onboarding, chart of accounts modifications, and evaluations of new applications.

• Contribute to the multi-year financial systems strategy in collaboration with Finance and technology leadership.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial systems, ERP analyst, or systems accountant position; 10+ years is highly preferred.

• Proficient in NetSuite (required).

• Extensive functional knowledge of financial modules.

• Hands-on expertise with saved searches, reports and dashboards, custom records and fields, SuiteFlow, and SuiteAnalytics.

• Strong understanding of core accounting principles: general ledger and chart of accounts, accounts payable and receivable, subledgers, accruals, allocations, month-end and year-end closing, and deferred revenue.

• Knowledge of financial controls, audit support, ITGCs, and segregation of duties.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.

• Additional experience with ERP and financial systems is highly desirable, including Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle Fusion, Workday Financials, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.

• Familiarity with adjacent tools such as Coupa, BILL, Avalara or Vertex, Ramp, Brex, Expensify, FloQast, or BlackLine.

• Understanding of integration and iPaaS platforms such as Celigo, Boomi, Workato, or custom REST integrations.

• Experience collaborating with external implementation or managed services partners and overseeing their deliverables.

• Proficient in SQL and advanced spreadsheet capabilities.

• Experience in e-commerce, DTC, subscription billing, and consumer products is a significant advantage.

• NetSuite certification is a plus.

• Fluency in AI and the ability to validate AI outputs when handling financial data.
