Senior Financial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the annual budgeting and forecasting activities.

• Conduct financial analyses for the organization.

• Collaborate with Operations and Development teams to ensure precise budgeting and reporting.

• Create monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analyses along with cash flow projections.

• Design and sustain financial models and forecasts for organizational planning and long-term financial strategies.

• Track expenditures against grant and program budgets.

• Generate financial reporting documents and schedules for government, corporate, and foundation grants.

• Implement FP&A software and develop budgeting processes and reports.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports tailored for the board.

• Aid in audit readiness by preparing and updating supporting schedules and analyses.

• Work in conjunction with the Controller and Chief Financial Officer.

• Deliver clear, actionable insights derived from financial data.

• Execute other responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a comparable combination of education and relevant finance experience.

• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or accounting.

• Previous experience in the nonprofit sector.

• Knowledge of grant budgets and restricted funding, including the analysis and reporting of government, corporate, and foundation grants.

• Proficient with technology and possess advanced knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and reporting software.

• Capability to work with financial data across various systems.

• Expert-level proficiency in Excel, particularly with complex workbooks utilizing formulas, macros, and pivot tables.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

• Familiarity with Sage Intacct.

• Previous experience in nonprofit finance, including fund and grant budgeting and monitoring.

• Ability to handle multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment.

• Highly driven, resourceful, and adaptable, with a positive demeanor.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
