Senior Financial Analyst

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with leaders in Software and Firmware Engineering to oversee spending on Cloud, Cellular, and AI vendors.

• Evaluate financial outcomes and generate monthly and quarterly management reports.

• Assist in financial review meetings with R&D and Finance leadership.

• Work alongside Accounting on month-end closing processes, cost classifications, and reporting inquiries.

• Partner with R&D teams to facilitate Annual Operating Plan (AOP) planning.

• Enhance the precision and scalability of financial reporting and forecasting models.

• Create mechanisms, analyses, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess business performance.

• Utilize AI tools to optimize financial reporting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis workflows.

• Advocate for and integrate Samsara’s cultural principles as the organization expands globally.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.

• Strong aptitude and enthusiasm for tackling complex problems through financial modeling and analysis.

• Proficient in advanced Excel and Google Sheets.

• Previous experience in a high-growth technology company.

• Capacity to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication and presentation abilities; comfortable presenting to senior management.

• Self-motivated and highly organized, able to work independently under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

• Knowledge of AWS cloud costs and general SaaS cost management.

• Skilled in using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Glean, and Cursor.

• Familiarity with Databricks and FP&A tools like Workday Adaptive Planning or similar planning systems, as well as NetSuite.

• Prior experience collaborating with software engineering teams.
