Senior Financial Analyst

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with leaders in Software and Firmware Engineering to oversee expenditures related to Cloud, Cellular, and AI vendors.

• Evaluate financial performance and compile monthly and quarterly reports for management.

• Assist in financial review meetings involving R&D and Finance executives.

• Work alongside the Accounting team on month-end closing processes, cost categorization, and reporting inquiries.

• Partner with R&D teams to facilitate Annual Operating Plan (AOP) planning.

• Enhance the precision and scalability of financial reporting and forecasting models.

• Create mechanisms, analyses, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess business performance.

• Utilize AI tools to optimize workflows for financial reporting, forecasting, and ad hoc analyses.

• Advocate for and integrate Samsara’s cultural principles as the organization expands globally and opens new offices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.

• Strong aptitude and passion for solving complex problems using financial modeling and analysis techniques.

• Advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets.

• Experience in a rapidly growing technology company.

• Ability to collaborate effectively and work across functions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

• Comfortable delivering presentations to senior management.

• Proactive, highly organized self-starter.

• Capable of working independently under tight deadlines while maintaining a keen attention to detail.

• Familiarity with AWS cloud costs and general SaaS cost management.

• Proficient in AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Glean, and Cursor.

• Skilled in Databricks.

• Experienced with FP&A tools like Workday Adaptive Planning and NetSuite.

• Previous experience collaborating with software engineering teams.
