This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Execute electrical and mechanical pre-commissioning tests on auxiliary systems, high-voltage breakers, high-voltage disconnect switches, and ACIS substation plants.
• Conduct functionality verification of instruments for system start-up.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance and responsive corrective maintenance tasks.
• Perform comprehensive equipment inspections to detect potential risks or performance issues.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for on-site troubleshooting.
• Diagnose complex technical problems, document root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Participate in the 24/7 support hotline as per rotational needs.
• Read and interpret single line diagrams, general arrangement drawings, and installation/commissioning procedures.
• Act as an EHS leader on-site.
• Implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and ensure adherence to GE, OSHA, NFPA70, and project-specific safety standards.
• Maintain site logs and compose detailed technical reports.
• Manage timesheets, expenses, and status reports efficiently.
• Represent GE GSI from a technical standpoint and build strong customer relationships.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team members.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or from Technical Schools.
• A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated field experience in electrical power systems.
• Strong hands-on expertise with ACIS substation apparatus, particularly Circuit Breakers and Disconnect Switches.
• Required experience in supervising high-voltage substations.
• Highly desirable experience with Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS).
• Strong understanding of EHS requirements applicable to high-voltage project sites.
• Knowledge of NETA, NERC, and IEC standards.
• OSHA 30 and NFPA70 certifications are highly preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and deliver high-quality work in dynamic environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• English language proficiency is mandatory.
• Valid US work authorization is required.
• Availability for work on project sites nationwide.
• Strong field leadership and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple contractors and interfaces concurrently.
• High attention to safety, quality, and detail.
• Practical problem-solving skills in construction settings.
• Ability to work effectively under schedule pressure while upholding standards.
• Successful completion of a drug screen, if applicable.
