This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Carry out electrical and mechanical pre-commissioning assessments on auxiliary systems, HV Breakers, HV Disconnect Switches, and ACIS substation facilities.
• Conduct instrument functionality checks to facilitate seamless system start-up.
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance and reactive corrective maintenance.
• Undertake thorough equipment inspections to detect potential hazards or performance issues.
• Serve as the main technical liaison for on-site troubleshooting.
• Analyze intricate technical problems, document underlying causes, and implement solutions to restore system operation.
• Engage in the 24/7 Support hotline based on rotational requirements.
• Read and interpret Single Line Diagrams, general arrangement drawings, and installation/commissioning protocols.
• Act as an EHS leader on-site and enforce LOTO procedures.
• Ensure adherence to GE, OSHA, NFPA70, and specific project safety regulations.
• Maintain site records and prepare detailed technical reports.
• Oversee timesheets, expenses, and status updates.
• Represent GE GSI and nurture customer relationships.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Offer technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior colleagues.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Technical Schools.
• At least 5 years of demonstrated field experience in electrical power systems.
• Extensive hands-on expertise with ACIS substation equipment, particularly Circuit Breakers and Disconnect Switches.
• Experience in supervising high-voltage substations is essential.
• Familiarity with GIS (Gas-Insulated Switchgear) is highly advantageous.
• Strong grasp of EHS requirements for high-voltage project sites.
• Knowledge of NETA, NERC, and IEC standards.
• OSHA 30 and NFPA70 certifications are strongly preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot effectively under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and deliver high-quality work in dynamic settings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Proficiency in English is mandatory.
• Valid US work authorization.
• Willingness to work on project sites throughout the US.
• Strong field leadership and decision-making skills.
• Excellent coordination and communication abilities.
• Capacity to manage multiple contractors and interfaces concurrently.
