Senior Field Service Technician – GSE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver hands-on support for aircraft tow tractors, container loaders, aircraft deicers, baggage and cargo transport vehicles, and other airport ground support equipment (GSE) featuring ICE or EV platforms.

• Identify, repair, and conduct routine maintenance on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

• Work with PLC systems to upload and download programs, troubleshoot logical issues, and make adjustments to control systems.

• Collaborate with dealer technicians via phone, email, or on-site for troubleshooting support.

• Examine technical documentation, manuals, and schematics to ensure precise service procedures.

• Maintain comprehensive records through work order systems, ensuring issue resolution and service reporting.

• Engage in OEM testing and equipment upgrades as required.

• Offer end-user product orientation and safety operating procedures at customer locations.

• Mentor or train junior or less-experienced technicians in the field as necessary.

• Travel to local regional customers and other airports across the continental United States as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED along with five (5) or more years of relevant experience in machine assembly or light fabrication; or prior relevant contracting experience with Oshkosh Corporation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Previous experience in GSE is mandatory.

• Expertise in electrical diagnostics and repair.

• Proficiency in mechanical systems and component-level servicing.

• Competence in hydraulic diagnostics and repair.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.

• Ability to work independently and possess strong problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be able to secure a passport if required.

• Must be capable of working effectively and harmoniously in a diverse and multicultural environment.

• Willingness and capability to travel outside of one’s region 40–50% of the time.
