
Field Service Technician – Mid-Atlantic Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Deliver fuel cell services during field visit assignments
• Safely drive a service vehicle
• Develop daily workflows based on scheduled tasks and work independently
• Conduct on-site preventative maintenance, repairs, testing, and diagnostics
• Adhere to company procedures and protocols
• Identify technical issues and implement suitable solutions
• Collaborate with technical teams and share information throughout the organization
• Comply with customer access requirements
• Maintain the service vehicle and spare parts inventory
• Establish and nurture positive customer relationships
• Generate timely, detailed service reports
• Participate in two initial training sessions of up to four weeks each in Sunnyvale, California
• Undertake other assigned responsibilities
• Must reside within the Mid-Atlantic Service District: Newark, Delaware; Elkton, Maryland; or North East, Maryland
• High school diploma with 6 years of experience in electrical, process controls, or electro-mechanical fields; or a technical diploma, Journeyman Certification, or Electrician Certification in a technical discipline along with 4 years of relevant industry experience; or over 5 years of relevant commercial electrical experience combined with electrical-related military experience
• Proficient in electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards, particularly OSHA and NFPA 70E
• Previous experience as an electrician or electrical technician with three-phase systems, UPS, electrical generation and distribution systems, power electronics, automatic transfer switches, or microprocessor-based control platforms
• Skilled in using electrical/electronic test and measurement equipment
• Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams and blueprints
• Experience in conducting equipment maintenance according to ANSI/NETA standards for Electrical Power
• Mechanical aptitude, including troubleshooting and repair capabilities
• Capable of working independently and exercising sound judgment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Competence in executing written and verbal procedures and sequenced work instructions
• Ability to regularly handle equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to reach, squat, bend, twist, and frequently use a ladder or step stool
• Capability to facilitate 24x7 on-call duty and shift work
• Willingness to work alternative schedules and overtime regularly
• Ability to frequently travel across a large Service District and occasionally to other US and international locations
• Clean driving record
• Two initial training sessions of up to four weeks each in Sunnyvale, CA
• Overtime opportunities to meet quarterly objectives
• Availability for 24x7 on-call duty
• Shift work as required
• Option for an alternative schedule (e.g., one week per month from Wednesday to Sunday)
