Senior Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Collaborate on-site with clients to discover opportunities for enhancing operations and alleviating challenges.

• Conduct field service activities, which include diagnosing technical problems and performing on-site troubleshooting within certified regions.

• Carry out installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, extensions, upgrades, retrofits, end-of-life services, and replacements.

• Assist in the certification process for Associate Field Service Technicians and Field Service Technicians.

• Mentor technicians and oversee complex site operations; serve as a trainer for team members and clients when necessary.

• Compile material lists and ensure that materials, parts, and equipment meet quality standards and are readily available.

• Anticipate potential equipment failures and suggest corrective measures.

• Develop and sustain positive relationships with customers to enhance customer satisfaction.

• Recognize potential new sales avenues, address customer requirements, and relay opportunities internally.

• Identify opportunities for product and quality enhancements and propose operational and customer service improvements to management.

• Adhere to safety protocols and uphold safe work and environmental practices; report any unsafe behaviors and incidents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with over 4 years of experience servicing critical power equipment, OR an Associate’s Degree in electrical technology with more than 6 years of experience in the same field, OR a High School Diploma/GED accompanied by equivalent work and/or military experience (8+ years) in servicing critical power equipment.

• High-level capability to interact and convey written and verbal information to various levels within the organization.

• Ability to work effectively in collaboration with others.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office products at an advanced level.

• Moderate proficiency in project management utilizing MS Project or Excel.

• Advanced skill in drafting test plans and reports that detail test outcomes.

• Strong organizational abilities and capability to meet deadlines for administrative responsibilities.

• Must possess work authorization that allows employment with ABB in the US.
