This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota.
• Collaborate on-site with clients to discover avenues for operational enhancements and resolve issues.
• Conduct field service activities, which include diagnosing technical problems and performing on-site troubleshooting within certified locations.
• Carry out installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, extensions, upgrades, retrofits, end-of-life services, and replacements.
• Assist in the certification process for Associate Field Service Technicians and Field Service Technicians.
• Mentor technicians and oversee intricate site operations.
• Serve as a trainer for both team members and customers when necessary.
• Compile material lists for service tasks and ensure that materials, parts, and equipment adhere to quality standards and are readily available.
• Proactively detect potential equipment malfunctions and suggest corrective measures.
• Foster and sustain positive relationships with customers to enhance satisfaction.
• Spot potential new sales prospects and relay them internally.
• Identify opportunities for product and quality enhancements and recommend operational and customer service improvements to management.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain safe working and environmental practices.
• Report unsafe practices and incidents.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 4+ years of experience in servicing critical power equipment OR an Associate’s Degree in electrical technology with 6+ years of experience in servicing critical power equipment OR a High School Diploma/GED combined with equivalent work and/or military experience (8+ years) in servicing critical power equipment.
• Advanced capability to interact and convey written and verbal information across various levels within the organization.
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with others.
• Advanced proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office applications.
• Moderate skills in project management using MS Project or Excel.
• Advanced ability to draft test plans and reports that detail test outcomes.
• Strong organizational skills to manage administrative responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Valid work authorization that allows employment with ABB in the US.
