Senior Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hawaii.

📋 Description

• Install, maintain, repair, and upgrade intricate diagnostic instruments and automation systems.

• Execute advanced troubleshooting for hardware, software, and system-level challenges.

• Act as a technical escalation point for critical customer concerns and complex service scenarios.

• Cultivate and sustain robust customer relationships through proactive communication and expert technical advice.

• Take ownership of and manage the designated territory, prioritizing service tasks effectively.

• Ensure that service activities adhere to Abbott quality systems, regulatory standards, and laboratory safety protocols.

• Record service activities, resolutions, and compliance-related documentation thoroughly.

• Collaborate with Sales, Applications, Technical Support, and Engineering teams to enhance service delivery.

• Provide technical mentoring and informal support to Field Service Engineers and colleagues.

• Utilize remote diagnostic tools and digital technologies to optimize instrument uptime and service efficiency.

• Maintain necessary certifications and engage in continuous technical training.

• Support advanced diagnostic instrumentation and complex systems, including laboratory automation, throughout Honolulu and Oahu.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer is necessary.

• Ability to travel locally up to 95% and long-distance up to 25% is essential.

• A valid driver’s license is required.

• Experience in supporting laboratory instrumentation and automation within a clinical or diagnostic setting is preferred.

• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with laboratory instrumentation, including automation, are required.

• Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet-based tools, VPN, and remote troubleshooting systems is essential.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in customer-facing technical environments are a must.

• Demonstrated interpersonal abilities in professional customer and cross-functional interactions are necessary.
