Senior Field Property Claims Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Conduct investigations both virtually and on-site at the residences of policyholders.

• Assess property damage, determine liability, evaluate the extent of losses, and negotiate equitable settlements.

• Utilize claims handling software, along with a company vehicle and laptop, to assess damage and create estimates in a paperless setting.

• Evaluate and report potential opportunities for subrogation.

• Report incidents of theft, fraud, or arson to the relevant state and industry agencies.

• Operate independently with responsibilities that directly affect management outcomes.

• Represent the company professionally in all public interactions.

• Engage with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and various stakeholders.

• Negotiate settlements with policyholders.

• Promote safety and adhere to the company's safety and ergonomic standards.

• Travel away from home for CAT deployments, typically lasting 23 days.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A High School diploma or equivalent is required.

• Strong customer service experience, ideally in a retail setting.

• Experience in construction or insurance is highly desirable.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Familiarity with smartphones and related applications.

• Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage.

• A valid driver's license and bondable status are required.

• Must reside within the Western Massachusetts hiring region.

• Willing to participate in 1–3 CAT deployments each year.

• Ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops multiple times daily.

• Capable of working in small, confined spaces, such as attics and crawlspaces.

• Must achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training examinations.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and data entry in English.

• Previous experience in the field handling property damage claims is strongly preferred, though the employer is open to training the right candidate.
