Senior Estimator, Highway Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Assist in the company's expansion through performance-based maintenance contracting for roadways and bridges.

• Develop precise and comprehensive estimates for bids and proposals.

• Collect information from sites, suppliers, subcontractors, and operators.

• Collaborate with operators and conduct advanced analyses.

• Offer options to leadership for informed decision-making.

• Grasp the business model and requirements of performance-based maintenance contracting projects and programs.

• Identify key variables for cost assessments and other estimates.

• Perform research on labor costs, materials, production times, and related data.

• Utilize software for data analysis, modeling, forecasting, and budgeting purposes.

• Acquire and assess offers and quotes from subcontractors and vendors.

• Conduct comprehensive risk analysis.

• Generate and submit estimate reports and/or bids to project managers and company leadership.

• Cultivate relationships with vendors, subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers.

• Present bids to Company Leadership during gate reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience as an estimator or in a similar role.

• Experience in highway or structures asset maintenance is advantageous.

• Extensive knowledge of financial and project management principles.

• Profound understanding and experience with research, data analysis methods, and estimation formulas.

• Proven expertise in advanced mathematics and IT, coupled with a strong analytical mindset.

• Expert-level proficiency in relevant software applications (Excel, Power BI, etc.).

• Awareness of the appropriate use and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a proven track record.

• High integrity, capable of handling sensitive and confidential company information responsibly.

• Ability to produce thorough, reliable, and actionable work products.

• Exceptional organizational skills.

• Capability to work independently, propose solutions, and respond constructively to feedback.

• Willingness to work non-standard hours during peak activity periods.

• Ability to present to executive-level stakeholders.
