Senior Estimator, Highway Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Comprehend the business model centered on performance-based maintenance contracting.

• Grasp the project/program and its specific requirements.

• Identify key variables necessary for cost and other estimations.

• Collect firsthand information from sites, suppliers, subcontractors, and operators.

• Conduct research to gather data on labor costs, materials, production times, and more.

• Utilize software for data analysis, modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.

• Acquire and evaluate offers and quotes from subcontractors or vendors.

• Execute detailed risk analysis.

• Create and submit estimate reports and/or bids to project managers and company leadership.

• Foster relationships with essential vendors, including subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers.

• Present bids to Company Leadership during gate reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience as an estimator or in a comparable role.

• Experience in highway or structures asset maintenance is advantageous.

• Comprehensive knowledge of financial and project management principles.

• Extensive knowledge and experience in research, data analysis methods, and estimation formulas.

• Proven advanced mathematics and IT skills with a strong analytical mindset.

• Expert-level proficiency in relevant software (Excel, Power BI, etc.).

• Understanding of the appropriate use and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, backed by proven experience.

• High level of integrity, able to be entrusted with sensitive and confidential company information.

• Capability to produce thorough, reliable, and actionable work products.

• Outstanding organizational abilities.

• Self-directed with the ability to propose solutions and respond constructively to feedback.

• Availability to work non-standard hours during peak activity periods.

• Competence in presenting to executives.
