Senior Estimator, Highway Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Comprehend the performance-based maintenance contracting business model.

• Grasp the project/program and its specific requirements.

• Identify key variables for cost assessments and other estimates.

• Collect firsthand information from sites, suppliers, subcontractors, and operators.

• Conduct research to gather data on labor costs, materials, production times, etc.

• Utilize software for data analysis, modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.

• Acquire and evaluate offers and quotes from subcontractors or vendors.

• Perform comprehensive risk analyses.

• Create and submit estimate reports and/or bids to project managers, company leadership, and other relevant parties.

• Develop relationships with key vendors, including subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers.

• Present bids to Company Leadership during gate reviews.

• Support the growth of DCS Asset Maintenance in performance-based maintenance contracting for roadways and bridges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience as an estimator or in a similar role.

• Experience in highway or structures asset maintenance is advantageous.

• In-depth understanding of financial and project management principles.

• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in research, data analysis methods, and estimation formulas.

• Proven advanced mathematical and IT skills with a strong analytical mindset.

• Expert-level proficiency in relevant software (Excel, Power BI, etc.).

• Knowledge of the appropriate use and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

• Exceptional and proven communication and negotiation skills.

• High level of integrity with the capability to handle sensitive and confidential company information responsibly.

• Ability to produce thorough, reliable, and actionable work products.

• Excellent organizational capabilities.

• Self-directed with the ability to propose solutions and respond constructively to feedback.

• Must be available to work non-standard hours during peak activity periods.

• Proficiency in presenting information to executives.
