Senior Estimator, Highway Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Develop precise and comprehensive estimates for bids and proposals.

• Collect information and firsthand data from sites, suppliers, subcontractors, and operators.

• Collaborate with operators and conduct advanced analyses.

• Provide options to leadership for informed decision-making.

• Grasp the performance-based maintenance contracting business model along with project and program requirements.

• Identify key variables for cost and various estimates.

• Carry out research on labor costs, materials, production timelines, and related data.

• Utilize software for data analysis, modeling, forecasting, and budgeting purposes.

• Acquire and assess offers and quotes from subcontractors or vendors.

• Execute detailed risk analyses.

• Prepare and submit estimate reports and/or bids to project managers and company leadership.

• Cultivate relationships with vendors, subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers.

• Deliver bids to Company Leadership during gate reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience as an estimator or in a similar role.

• Experience in highway or structures asset maintenance is advantageous.

• Comprehensive understanding of financial and project management principles.

• Extensive knowledge and experience in research and data analysis techniques as well as estimation formulas.

• Proven advanced mathematical and IT skills with an analytical mindset.

• Expert-level proficiency in relevant software applications (Excel, Power BI, etc.).

• Familiarity with the appropriate use and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

• High degree of integrity with the capability to manage sensitive and confidential company information responsibly.

• Ability to produce thorough, reliable, and actionable work products.

• Strong organizational abilities.

• Capacity to be self-directed, propose solutions, and respond constructively to feedback.

• Must be available to work during non-standard hours during peak activity periods.

• Competence in presenting to executives.
