Senior Environmental – Remedial Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee the management of a segment of GE Vernova’s portfolio of remedial projects.

• Supervise external consultants and facilitate coordination among internal stakeholders.

• Manage the execution of remedial projects from the initial risk assessment and planning stages through to final completion.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, safety protocols, and budget limitations.

• Deliver technical services, schedule oversight, financial management, reporting, and stakeholder engagement activities.

• Coordinate with project team members across various departments, including Environmental & Properties Risk, real estate, sourcing, special projects, strategy, finance, legal, EHS, governmental affairs, communications, operations, and facilities.

• Offer technical support for mergers and acquisitions, real estate, and restructuring efforts.

• Evaluate and mitigate environmental risks associated with transactions and strategic initiatives.

• Provide strategic guidance, direction, progress reports, and financial updates to management.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in environmental science, geology, engineering, biology, chemistry, or a related field.

• Proven applied experience in project management within environmental, remediation, or EHS sectors.

• Demonstrated experience managing complex remediation projects that involve soil, groundwater, and soil vapor issues, including PCBs, hydrocarbons, and chlorinated solvents; or proven experience providing environmental transactional support for real estate or M&A activities.

• In-depth knowledge of ASTM standards and Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.

• Experience in preparing and utilizing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments to evaluate risks.

• Proven track record in coordinating environmental due diligence for multiple, large, or complex transactions simultaneously.

• Understanding of legal obligations, regulatory frameworks, environmental risks, reputational factors, and local challenges.

• Capability to provide strategic oversight, direction, planning, progress tracking, and financial updates to management.

• Experience managing and coordinating consultant teams to create project cost estimates, scopes of work, proposals, and reports.

• Background in preparing financial estimates and planning for long-term projects.

• Familiarity with environmental issues related to historical and current manufacturing and energy operations.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation abilities.

• Proven collaboration skills within diverse teams.

• Ability to convey complex technical information in a clear manner.

• Demonstrated success in coordinating technical, financial, reputational, and legal aspects of complex projects.

• Strong technical and analytical skills.

• Experience handling sensitive and confidential information.

• Experience in cross-cultural environments within large, matrixed organizations.

• Willingness and ability to travel internationally, approximately 30% of the time.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Proficient in English and business fluency in Spanish or Portuguese.

• A graduate degree in an environmental, technical, business, or related field is preferred as a distinguished qualification.

• Proven project management skills encompassing initiation, scoping, resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and communication.

• Familiarity with LEAN principles.
