Senior Enterprise Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and take ownership of the target-state architecture for OnTrac’s AI-native logistics platform on GCP.

• Design and develop agentic and multi-agent systems, encompassing orchestration, planning, tool utilization, memory, state management, human-in-the-loop controls, and A2A communication.

• Architect the MCP server ecosystem to expose logistics services and enterprise data as governed, reusable tools.

• Create AI-ready data platforms with batch and real-time streaming pipelines, lakehouse and warehouse architectures, feature stores, and vector stores.

• Establish canonical data models and event taxonomies featuring versioned contracts, data quality, lineage, and governance.

• Develop API and integration architecture utilizing API-first design principles, REST, gRPC, asynchronous APIs, OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, Apigee, Pub/Sub, and Kafka.

• Apply and document distributed, AI, and agentic architecture patterns while publishing reference architectures.

• Construct proofs of concept, prototypes, and reference implementations; produce production-quality code in collaboration with engineering teams.

• Implement AI solutions for order intake, address validation, route optimization, delivery promises, ETA prediction, exception management, control tower operations, driver/dispatch assistance, and enhancing customer experiences.

• Lead architecture and design reviews, author Architectural Decision Records (ADRs), support governance of architecture and AI technology selection, and mentor engineering staff.

• Report directly to the CTO and collaborate with platform, core, and domain engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.

• 10 years of relevant experience in software engineering, data engineering, or solution architecture.

• Minimum of 7 years in an architecture role.

• 2 years of hands-on experience delivering generative AI or LLM solutions.

• 3 years of practical experience designing, building, and managing production solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• 3 years of experience within the last mile delivery, parcel, or logistics sector, supporting technology for delivery operations.

• Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise API management and integration platforms, such as Apigee, MuleSoft, Kong, or Azure API Management.

• Extensive hands-on knowledge of agentic AI, agent frameworks, multi-agent orchestration, tool and function calling, agent memory, MCP, and A2A protocols.

• Expert understanding of GCP architecture and AI/data services, including Vertex AI, Gemini, BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, GKE, Cloud Run, and Apigee.

• Expert proficiency in data engineering for AI, covering data modeling, batch and stream processing, ETL/ELT, CDC, lakehouse design, feature and vector stores, data quality, and governance.

• Strong knowledge of API management and integration, including API design standards, gateways, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, Kafka, and Pub/Sub.

• Solid skills in DevOps, MLOps, and LLMOps, including Terraform, CI/CD tooling, Kubernetes, model and prompt versioning, automated evaluation, and LLM observability tools.

• Understanding of last mile delivery and parcel logistics, including parcel lifecycle, scan events, network planning, routing, geospatial data, and driver/carrier operations.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing hands-on engineering with architectural leadership, while prioritizing multiple initiatives.

• Google Cloud Professional certifications and experience in establishing an AI center of excellence, agent platform, or developing reference architectures and standards are strongly preferred.
