Senior Enterprise Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and take ownership of the target-state architecture for OnTrac’s AI-native logistics platform on GCP.

• Design and develop agentic and multi-agent systems that encompass orchestration, planning, tool utilization, memory, state management, human-in-the-loop controls, and A2A communication.

• Architect the MCP server ecosystem, which exposes logistics services and enterprise data as governed tools for AI agents.

• Create AI-ready data platforms featuring batch and real-time pipelines, lakehouse and warehouse architectures, feature stores, and vector stores.

• Establish canonical data models and event taxonomies that include versioned contracts, data quality, lineage, and governance.

• Define the API and integration architecture utilizing REST, gRPC, asynchronous APIs, OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, Apigee, Pub/Sub, and Kafka.

• Implement and document distributed and AI architecture patterns, publishing reference architectures.

• Develop proofs of concept, prototypes, and reference implementations while writing production-quality code in collaboration with engineering teams.

• Leverage AI capabilities for last-mile delivery, including order intake, address validation, route optimization, ETA prediction, exception management, control tower operations, driver/dispatch assistance, and conversational customer experiences.

• Lead architecture and design reviews, author Architectural Decision Records (ADRs), contribute to architecture governance and technology selection, and mentor engineers.

• Report directly to the CTO and collaborate with platform, core, and domain engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in software engineering, data engineering, or solution architecture.

• At least 7 years of experience in an architectural role.

• 2 years of hands-on experience delivering generative AI or LLM solutions.

• 3 years of practical experience designing, building, and operating production solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• 3 years of experience in the last-mile delivery, parcel, or logistics industry, specifically supporting technology for delivery operations.

• Experience in designing and implementing enterprise API management and integration platforms, such as Apigee, MuleSoft, Kong, or Azure API Management.

• In-depth, hands-on knowledge of agentic AI, agent frameworks, multi-agent orchestration, tool and function calling, agent memory, MCP, and A2A protocols.

• Expert proficiency in GCP architecture and AI/data services, including Vertex AI, Gemini, Vertex AI Vector Search, BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, GKE, Cloud Run, and Apigee.

• Advanced knowledge in data engineering for AI, covering data modeling, batch and stream processing, ETL/ELT, CDC, lakehouse design, feature and vector stores, data quality, and data governance.

• Strong expertise in API management and integration, API design standards, gateways, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, Kafka, and Pub/Sub.

• Proficient in DevOps, MLOps, and LLMOps skills, including Terraform, CI/CD tooling, Kubernetes, model and prompt versioning, automated evaluation, and LLM observability tools.

• Familiarity with last-mile delivery and parcel logistics.

• Capability to balance hands-on engineering with architectural leadership and effectively prioritize multiple initiatives.

• Google Cloud Professional certifications and experience in establishing an AI center of excellence, agent platform, or reference architectures are highly preferred.
